On June 28, 2020, Nandi County health officials were put on high alert after a detainee at Songhor Police Station in Tinderet constituency tested positive for COVID-19.
The detainee had been in contact with nine other detainees at the station, raising concerns that the situation might yield more cases.
Nandi County Health CEC Ruth Koech assured that her team was already on the ground, conducting contact tracing and advising people in the area to be tested.
‘Our team is already on the ground, they’re doing contact tracing, they’re advising people who are around that area to be tested,’ said the CEC.
