On June 28, 2020, Senator Isaac Mwaura and his wife Mukami Rwamba marked five years of marriage in a special celebration.
As they commemorated this milestone, Mwaura penned a heartfelt message to his wife, reflecting on their journey together.
"We have won many battles, lost quite a number, fought and quarreled, made up, lost children yet raised one little Njiru, led a normal life like any other, got caught up in the storms, but we have kept the faith and the friendship altogether," he wrote.
He added that marriage has taught them that it's not just about the good times, but about sticking together through the challenges.
"Marriage is above all, putting GOD first and walking besides each other in this journey of survival for the fittest. It's never a walk in the park and it's not for the faint hearted either. It's however not a walk in desert storm, but a mixture of both good and not so good, some kind of sweet chilli… It's intentional and deliberate, just like money doesn't grow on trees, you've got to work for it…, We thank GOD for our Happy 5th wedding anniversary!!! #MarriageWorks," he said.
Mukami Rwamba also shared a photo of herself wearing her wedding gown, writing, "5 years later he still pulls a surprise on me.😅"
