On June 16th, Villa Rosa Kempinski re-opened its Italian restaurant, Lucca, after a two-month closure due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The restaurant had been closed since the Ministry of Health directive banned sit-in dining in restaurants to prevent the spread of the virus.
The hotel has introduced a Staycation Package targeting families and individuals who are bored of staying at home without inter-country travel due to the prevailing curfew. For Sh17,000, an individual or a couple will enjoy accommodation in a superior room, dinner and breakfast, early check-in, and check out.
The Staycation Package also offers complimentary accommodation for up to two children aged 6 years and below, while those 7-12 years pay 50 percent. The package runs from June 16th to December 31st, 2020.
As part of its efforts to prevent the spread of Covid-19, Villa Rosa Kempinski has implemented a new safety model known as White Glove Service Operating Procedure. This is a Kempinski worldwide operational strategy and safety quality management that covers all areas of the hotel, while keeping in line with regional safety and health regulations.
The hotel has also introduced a comprehensive guidebook to support the execution of the Kempinski White Glove Service. The 50-page guidebook meticulously treats any kind of measures to be taken in all departments of the luxurious hotels, ranging from arrival of the guests to set-up of public areas, food & beverage to housekeeping as well as spa areas to meeting spaces.
As part of the hotel's efforts to prevent the spread of Covid-19, employees will now carry gloves during all guest interactions, and masks will be provided in compliance with government regulations. Mini hand sanitisers and guest masks will also be provided in all guest rooms.
Enhanced cleaning plans are provided by hygiene products supplier Diversey through wall charts and online guidelines to visualise step by step the flow of disinfection and cleaning of all hotel areas. Sanitising stations are spread throughout the hotel, key cards are disinfected before and after usage, cloth towels in public toilets replaced by one-time-usage disposable towels, and professional air purifiers provide clean and fresh air.
