MP John Waluke's wife, Roselyn Waluke, has made a heartfelt plea for financial assistance from the public to help raise the Sh727 million fine imposed by court, which threatens to send her husband to prison.
On Sunday, June 28, 2020, Mrs. Waluke urged well-wishers to channel their donations to her phone number, 0728732542, as the family awaits an M-Pesa Paybill number.
“You are aware of our problem and I thank those who have stood with us during this challenging time and kindly continue praying for us. We are requesting for your financial assistance. Her plea comes as her co-accused, Grace Wakhungu, has already raised Ksh500 million in just two hours via WhatsApp, a feat that has left many in awe.
Grace Wakhungu, a member of a prominent family with numerous high-achieving siblings, was able to raise the substantial amount in a short span of time, thanks to her family's vast network and resources.
Her family, which includes former Kenyan Vice President Moody Awori, top-notch lawyers, engineers, politicians, surgeons, journalists, educationists, athletes, and diplomats, has a long history of producing successful individuals.
Grace Wakhungu's daughter, Prof Judy Wakhungu, is a former Environment Cabinet Secretary and currently Kenya's ambassador to France, while her brother Dennis Awori is Kenya's former ambassador to Japan.
With such a strong support system, it is no surprise that Grace Wakhungu was able to raise the substantial amount in a short span of time.
