On Saturday afternoon, police in Naivasha were called to a house near Naivasha High School where the bodies of four minors were found.
The children, aged between eight and two years, had been poisoned by their mother, Beatrice, who has since been arrested.
According to Naivasha OCPD Samuel Waweru, Beatrice had been laid off from her job at an NGO in Naivasha two months prior due to COVID-19.
She allegedly poisoned the children on Friday evening before fleeing to the neighbouring Kayole estate, where she was later arrested.
Emotions ran high in the community as neighbours struggled to come to terms with the tragic incident.
