On June 26, 2020, police in Kirinyaga County discovered the body of Eunice Wambui, a 27-year-old Kenyan woman, in a shallow grave at Kianderi village in Kirinyaga Central Sub-County.
According to reports, Wambui's boyfriend, Simon Murimi, 35, is suspected of killing her and burying her body earlier that week.
Family members of the suspect told police that they had seen him digging a grave and later filling it with soil.
The body of the deceased was taken to Kerugoya mortuary for a postmortem examination, as investigations into the incident continue.
Police have launched a search for Murimi, who went into hiding after committing the crime, and the motive behind the murder remains unknown.
