Manchester United's Harry Maguire scored a winner deep into extra-time to send his team into the FA Cup semi-finals, defeating 10-man Norwich City 2-1 at Carrow Road on June 27, 2020.
The match looked headed for a penalty shootout after Norwich's Timm Klose was sent off in the 89th minute, but Maguire's goal two minutes from the end secured the win for Manchester United.
The victory extends Manchester United's unbeaten run in all competitions to 14 matches and marks their 30th appearance in the FA Cup semi-finals.
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer acknowledged that the match was not a spectacle, but expressed delight at his team's progress into the last four.
"It wasn't a spectacle, we didn't threaten enough or create enough chances," Solskjaer said. "But I am delighted we are into the last four and it was a good workout, we got some minutes for a lot of players. We are through and that is what counts in the Cup," he added.
The match saw Manchester United make eight changes from their previous team, with several squad players given a start.
After a low-key first half, Manchester United took the lead in the 51st minute through Odion Ighalo, but Norwich equalized through Todd Cantwell's long-range drive in the 75th minute.
With the momentum shifting back to Manchester United, Norwich defender Klose was sent off for pulling down Ighalo on the edge of the box in the 89th minute, setting the stage for Maguire's winning goal.
