On August 4, 2020, a horrific incident occurred at London's Tate Modern art gallery, where an 18-year-old British teenager, Jonty Bravery, threw a six-year-old French boy from a 10th-floor viewing platform.

The boy, who cannot be identified due to his age, suffered severe injuries, including a broken spine, legs, and arms, as well as a head injury. He was left with permanent and life-changing injuries and required round-the-clock care.

Bravery, who was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) at the age of five and has a personality disorder, was detained in a high-security psychiatric unit after the attack. He claimed he carried out the attack because he had not been given proper treatment for his mental health issues.

However, Judge Maura McGowan told Bravery that he would spend at least 15 years in custody for attempting to murder the boy and that he may never be released from prison. McGowan also stated that Bravery's actions were 'callous' and 'beyond imagination.'

The boy's parents issued a statement expressing their horror and fear at Bravery's actions, stating that their son faced 'many years' of rehabilitation and physiotherapy.
