On May 16, Joyce Kwamboka Orina entrusted her brother to deliver 80kgs of green grams and 40kgs of beans to a client in town. The brother stopped in the OTC area to answer a call of nature and left the trolley outside, where Paul Wamathina Wamathare allegedly took it and disappeared.
Wamathare was later traced and arrested near Ngara post office, but with only the trolley. The luggage was not recovered. He was released on a cash bail of Sh5,000, with a hearing date set for September 9.
According to court records, Wamathare admitted to the charges and explained that he had left the luggage outside a pub to quench his thirst, only to find it missing from the trolley.
Chief Magistrate Heston Nyaga questioned Wamathare about his official names, Wamathina and Wamathare, and how he obtained them.
