On June 27, 2020, the Ministry of Health in Kenya reported 278 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of registered cases in the country since March to 5,811.
According to the Ministry, a total of 4,074 samples were analyzed within 24 hours, with 162,478 tests conducted since March.
The new cases include two foreign nationals, comprising 181 males and 97 females, with the youngest being a year-old infant and the oldest aged 84.
The cases are distributed across various counties, including Nairobi, Mombasa, Nakuru, Kiambu, Busia, Uasin Gishu, Kajiado, Migori, Kericho, Machakos, Nandi, Trans Nzoia, Siaya, Taita Taveta, Kwale, Kisumu, Makueni, Meru, and Vihiga.
Health Chief Administrative Secretary Mercy Mwangagi announced the new cases, providing details on the distribution of cases across the counties.
Additionally, the Ministry reported four fatalities, raising the country's virus-linked death toll to 141, and 31 additional patients were discharged, bringing the number of recovered patients to 1,936.
