On Saturday, June 27, 2020, Kenya's coronavirus cases rose to 5,811 after 278 new patients tested positive for the disease from 4,074 samples tested within the last twenty four hours.
According to Health Chief Administrative Secretary Dr. Mercy Mwangangi, the new cases are composed of 276 Kenyans and two foreign nationals.
Dr. Mwangangi stated that the 278 cases include 181 males and 97 females aged between one and 84 years.
The cases are distributed across various counties, with Nairobi recording the highest number of infections at 171, followed by Mombasa with 37 cases.
Dr. Mwangangi also revealed that 31 patients were discharged from various health facilities across the country, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,936.
Unfortunately, four patients succumbed to the disease, taking the total number of fatalities to 141.
