ODM leader Raila Odinga has been undergoing treatment at the Saudi German Hospital in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, after undergoing a minor back surgery.
According to his elder brother, Oburu Oginga, who is also the Odingas spokesperson, Raila had flown to the Middle East country for the procedure.
Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho, a staunch ODM member, has now given an update on Raila's health, saying he is responding well to treatment.
"Raila Odinga will return to Kenya soon," Governor Joho said in a video-taped address, adding that he is hopeful that the former prime minister will be back in Kenya soon.
"I feel happy and encouraged that his health condition is improving. The fraternity of ODM continues to pray for our leader," Governor Joho said.
