On June 27, 2020, Kirinyaga governor Anne Waiguru expressed her gratitude to her husband, lawyer Kamotho Waiganjo, after the Senate intervened to save her job following an impeachment vote by the Kirinyaga County Members of County Assembly.
Waiguru took to social media to thank her constituents, saying, 'To the Members of Kirinyaga County Assembly who stood by me, my family and friends, I thank you all.'
She also urged Kenyans not to lose sight of the truth, stating, 'Just because a lie repeated severally sounds like the truth, it DOES NOT in any way change the truth.'
Waiguru then extended special thanks to her husband, saying, 'Special thanks to my Husband who has been amazingly supportive throughout this process.'
She added, 'A friend of mine recently said that there are husbands from heaven and then there are husbands who come walking. You are definitely one from heaven.'
