ODM leader Raila Odinga has undergone a successful surgery at the Saudi German Hospital Dubai, and his condition is reported to be stable.
According to sources, Mr Odinga was admitted to the hospital early this week for a minor back surgery, which was conducted successfully.
His brother, Dr Oburu Oginga, had earlier confirmed that Mr Odinga was out of the country for a minor surgical operation in his back, which was not a serious health issue.
ODM Deputy Party Leader Hassan Joho has spoken to Mr Odinga and reported that he is doing well after the procedure.
"I had the opportunity to speak to my party leader and my father the Baba of the nation. I feel happy and encouraged that he is progressing well," Mr Joho said.
Mr Joho expressed confidence that Mr Odinga will be back in Kenya soon and that the party will continue to stand behind him and support his agenda.
However, the hospital's management has maintained a high level of confidentiality regarding Mr Odinga's treatment, refusing to disclose details about the surgery or his expected discharge date.
Mr Odinga's condition has been the subject of speculation in recent days, with some reports suggesting that he had gone to China for treatment. However, his brother dismissed these reports, stating that he was not in China and that the last time he was there was in November last year.
