On June 27, 2020, British American Tobacco (BAT) Kenya announced the appointment of Kathryne Maundu as its new company secretary.
Maundu takes over from Waeni Ngea, who resigned from the position on June 26, 2020, after holding the dual role of Head of Legal and Company Secretary since May 2018.
Maundu is a seasoned corporate governance expert with over 15 years of experience advising leading corporates in the public and private sectors. She is a partner at Stamford Corporation Services LLP and a member of the Women on Boards Network.
Maundu has been recognized as a leader in society and named among the top 40 under 40 women in Kenya. She is also an Accredited Governance Auditor with the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries and a council member of the Institute of Certified Secretaries.
