On June 27, 2020, police in Naivasha arrested a 42-year-old woman in connection with the death of her four children.
The suspect's friend alerted the police after the mother of six confessed to the murders, initially claiming her children were admitted to the Naivasha Sub-County hospital with chest pains.
However, she later confessed to strangling the children, who were found suffocated inside the sitting room of their residential house, located less than two kilometers from Naivasha town.
Naivasha Sub County Police Commander Samuel Waweru said the suspect was traced to her Kayole hideout, where she had rented a room, and was escorted to Naivasha Police Station around 6:15 pm on Saturday, appearing 'relaxed' despite being linked to the killings.
Investigations revealed that the four children were first poisoned before being strangled, and the suspect took turns to strangle them and slept in the same house until the next morning, when she walked away.
