Raila's Recovery Update: Joho Assures Kenyans of ODM Leader's Progress

Published on June 26, 2020, Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has provided an update on the health of ODM leader Raila Odinga, who underwent surgery abroad.

According to Joho, he spoke to Odinga in the morning and was informed that he was in high spirits and progressing well.

"This morning I had the opportunity to speak to my party leader. I feel happy and encouraged that he's progressing really well," Joho said in a video shared on his Facebook page.

He further expressed confidence that Odinga will return to the country soon to complete the journey of uniting the nation, stating, "I want to tell our supporters that our leader is strong, our leader is solid, he is recovering well, and soon he shall land back in Kenya and continue with the journey of ensuring we achieve our agenda of uniting the people of Kenya."

Oburu Odinga, Raila's elder brother, had earlier confirmed that Raila underwent a minor surgical operation on his back at a German hospital in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.
