On June 25, 2020, the Ministry of Health announced 178 new positive cases of coronavirus from 3,918 samples tested within the last 24 hours.
Health Chief Administrative Secretary Dr. Mercy Mwangangi made the announcement during the launch of a call centre at the Kenya National Hospital (KNH). She stated that this brings the total number of COVID-19 infections to 5,384.
According to Dr. Mwangangi, all except three of the new cases are foreign nationals aged between 1 and 76 years old.
The distribution of the new cases in terms of counties was as follows: Nairobi (100), Kajiado (21), Migori (17), Kiambu (16), Busia (8), Mombasa (7), Machakos (4), Nakuru (2), Uasin Gishu (1), Kericho (1), and Taita Taveta (1).
Dr. Mwangangi also announced that the ministry had discharged 34 patients from various health centers, bringing the number of recoveries to 1,857.
Two patients also succumbed to the disease, taking the tally of fatalities to 132.
