On June 26, 2020, former Wimbledon champion and Novak Djokovic's coach Goran Ivanisevic announced that he had tested positive for COVID-19.

According to Ivanisevic's Instagram post, he had undergone two negative tests in the last 10 days but was informed that he had tested positive for COVID-19. He stated that he felt well and had no symptoms, and asked those who had been in contact with him to take extra precautions to protect themselves and their loved ones.

Ivanisevic had attended the Adria Tour in Zadar, Croatia, last weekend, where several players and team members had tested positive for COVID-19, including Djokovic, Grigor Dimitrov, and Borna Coric. The tournament was canceled before its final match due to the outbreak.

Men's world No. 1 Djokovic had initiated the tournament to promote sports and raise funds for those in need, despite the ATP remaining suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Croatia has been recording double-digit numbers of new COVID-19 cases since last week.

Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic, who also attended the tournament, had close contact with Djokovic and Ivanisevic but tested negative on Monday and refused to self-isolate, citing a short period of contact.
