Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has spoken out after a bid to impeach her was thrown out by a senate committee, with the governor urging MCAs to focus on serving the people of Kirinyaga County.
The committee, led by Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala, found the allegations against Waiguru to be unsubstantiated and lacking in substance, effectively ending the impeachment process.
Waiguru has called on the MCAs to take responsibility for their actions and work towards the betterment of the county, rather than engaging in politics motivated by personal gain.
She emphasized her commitment to the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) and its goals, stating that she remains dedicated to seeing the country improve as a whole.
Waiguru also extended an olive branch to the MCAs, calling for cooperation and collaboration in delivering services to the people of Kirinyaga County.
"My government remains ready and willing to work with like-minded individuals committed to the service of Kirinyaga residents," she said.
