COVID-19 Cases Rise to 5,533 in Kenya

Published on June 26, 2020, Kenya's COVID-19 cases have risen to 5,533 after 149 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

Health CAS Dr. Rashid Aman announced the new cases during the daily COVID-19 press conference, stating that 3,090 samples had been tested in the same period.

Of the new cases, 148 are Kenyans, while one is a foreign national. The cases are distributed across various counties, with Nairobi reporting the highest number of cases at 73.

Unfortunately, five more patients have succumbed to the virus, bringing the total number of deaths to 137. On a positive note, 48 patients have been discharged, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,905.

The distribution of cases by county is as follows: Nairobi (73), Mombasa (20), Kajiado (15), Siaya (13), Machakos (3), Kilifi (1), Nakuru (1), Nandi (1), Bungoma (1), and Isiolo (1).
