On June 26, 2020, the Ministry of Health confirmed 149 new COVID-19 cases in Kenya from a tested sample size of 3,090.
Out of the 149 new cases, 148 were Kenyans and one was a foreign national.
According to CAS Rashid Aman, the youngest case was a one-year-old infant, while the oldest was 76 years old.
Dr. Aman further reported five new deaths related to the disease, bringing the total number of fatalities to 137.
Forty-eight patients were also released from various hospitals, bringing the total number of those who have recovered from the disease to 1,905.
The breakdown of COVID-19 cases by county showed that Nairobi recorded the highest number of new cases at 73, followed by Mombasa County with 20 cases.
Other counties with new cases included Kajiado (15), Siaya (13), Busia (9), Kiambu (8), Taita Taveta (3), Machakos (3), Kilifi, Nakuru, Nandi, Bungoma, and Isiolo, each with one case.
