On June 15, Jane Waruguru, a 51-year-old mother of three, left her home in South C Estate, Nairobi, bound for the Central Business District. She was never seen again.
Her family's frantic search efforts began immediately, with her daughter trying to reach her on the day she disappeared, only to find her phone switched off. Other family members also tried to contact her, but their calls went unanswered.
With no sign of Jane at local hospitals, the family reported her missing at Lang'ata police station. Five days later, a caller came forward claiming to have spotted her in Kayole, but her condition was a concern.
The family is now appealing to anyone with information about Jane's whereabouts to come forward. They describe her as a sound-minded and jovial person, a teacher by profession.
