On a recent visit to his Karen residence, Deputy President William Ruto met with two Kenyan carpenters, Stephen Odhiambo and Dennis Otieno, who showcased their innovative multipurpose bench.
According to Mr. Otieno, the bench can accommodate up to six people, exceeding the usual capacity of three people. He demonstrated the bench's capabilities to Dr. Ruto, who was impressed by its design and functionality.
When asked about the price of the bench, Mr. Otieno stated, "As a common citizen, we sell this bench for Sh22,000. However, as our hustler, we can offer you a good deal." Dr. Ruto then placed an order for five benches, agreeing to pay Sh150,000, which translates to Sh30,000 per bench.
After a brief negotiation, Dr. Ruto agreed to pay the agreed price, with Mr. Otieno jokingly saying, "Let's do it at Sh150,000." The two laughed off the comment, and the deal was sealed.
