Former Kiambu Governor Opposes Constitutional Amendment

Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has expressed opposition to the proposed constitutional amendment to increase political seats, arguing that it will not benefit ordinary Kenyans.

Speaking in an interview, Kabogo stated that the proposed changes to the constitution will only serve the interests of politicians and not the general public.

He emphasized that the proposed amendment will not bring any benefits to ordinary Kenyans and that the focus should be on ensuring that the current political system serves the people's interests.

According to Kabogo, the proposed amendment will only lead to a concentration of power in the hands of a few individuals, which will not benefit the majority of Kenyans.

He suggested that the country should have a two-party system, where one party forms the government and the other party serves as the opposition, to ensure that the government is accountable to the people.

"We should have a two-party system where one party forms the government and the other party serves as the opposition," Kabogo said. "This will ensure that the government is accountable to the people and that the interests of the people are protected."

He also criticized the proposed amendment for prioritizing the interests of politicians over those of the general public.

"The proposed amendment will only serve the interests of politicians and not the general public," Kabogo stated. "It will not bring any benefits to ordinary Kenyans and will only lead to a concentration of power in the hands of a few individuals."
