June 26, 2020
Being a man is not just about physical strength or societal expectations, but about emotional intelligence, vulnerability, and a deep understanding of oneself. Dayan Masinde's MANHOOD SERIES explores the complexities of masculinity and encourages men to ask themselves the tough questions.
Here are 23 questions that every man needs to ask himself, as outlined in the MANHOOD SERIES:
- How do I truly feel, and why am I being told to suppress my emotions?
- How was my childhood, and how did it positively or negatively affect me?
- How was/is my dad, and what can I learn from him about being a man?
- Is there a woman out there hurting because of me, and have I apologized or asked for forgiveness?
- Is there a woman out there who hurt me, and am I hurting other women because of the pain she caused me?
- What is my personal view on sex, and have I been responsible with my penis?
- When I look at myself in the mirror, am I proud of the man looking back at me?
- Are there at least 5 women out there who find me to be a blessing in their life?
- What do I struggle with, and what am I doing about it?
- Is there a man I can reach out to as a mentor, and is there a man I admire for who he is, not for his wealth?
- Am I proud enough of my journey to mentor someone?
- Am I growing, or am I stuck in the same level of growth?
- The friends I keep, what value do they add to my life, and are they ruining the good that I have?
- What value do I add to other people's lives, or do I use people for my convenience?
- Is there a fellow man so close to me that I can call a brother?
- Why do I pursue the woman I am pursuing, and what is my motive?
- Why do I want to get married, and is it because of societal pressure or personal desire?
- How do I treat my wife, and would I be happy if she treated me the way I treat her?
- What role am I playing in the child/children that I have sired, besides provision?
- How is my relationship with God, and what does He think of me?
- Am I man enough to love, to be vulnerable, to care for another, or is my fear making me selfish?
- Do I love the job that I am doing, and does it bring me fulfillment?
- What is my purpose, and when I die, what legacy will I leave behind?
Dayan Masinde's MANHOOD SERIES is a thought-provoking exploration of what it means to be a man. By asking these tough questions, men can gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their place in the world.
