On June 26, 2020, Jack Daniel's successfully launched a virtually-driven bartender's mentorship program, known as Tennessee Campus, to empower Kenyan bartenders and provide them with the opportunity to master their craft.
The program, which was originally set to kick off in March 2020 in person but had to transition to an online format due to the COVID-19 pandemic, blessed 60 bartenders with a 360° educative and entrepreneurship project that covered all aspects of the bartending profession.
Participants were given the skills, insights, and tools to help them navigate the world's new challenges, including the art of entrepreneurialism, the art of creativity, and delivering quality and consistency.
For three weeks, participants were mentored online, and all participants were given a starter-pack that included data allowance, shopping vouchers, and other essentials to enable them to partake without any added burden.
With the program's success, there will be another phase where each bartender will be encouraged to put their skills to the test on the digital platform, and they'll be rewarded with monetary compensation to help them generate much-needed income.
