June 26, 2020, marked the end of a 30-year wait for Liverpool as they secured their 19th top-flight title, their first since 1989-90.

The Reds needed one victory to seal the league, but Manchester City's failure to win at Chelsea meant they couldn't be caught.

Thousands of fans gathered at Anfield to celebrate, despite being urged to 'stay home' by the city's metro mayor due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Many supporters wore face masks and lit flares, while a number of Reds players, including Alisson, Virgil van Dijk, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, celebrated together after watching the Chelsea-City game.

Manager Jurgen Klopp, visibly emotional, told Sky Sports: 'I have no words, it's unbelievable. It's much more than I ever thought would be possible. Becoming champion with this club is absolutely incredible.'

However, due to the pandemic, Liverpool will not be able to celebrate their title win with their supporters immediately, with their next home games to be played behind closed doors.
