On June 26, 2020, a shocking incident occurred in Nairobi when a driver attached to former Wajir Senator Abdirahman Ali Hassan allegedly made away with Sh2.1 million belonging to his boss.

The incident happened at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) where the senator was attending a meeting.

According to a police report, the senator had left his car, a Toyota Land Cruiser, with the money in the rear seat while he attended the meeting.

When he returned after 20 minutes, he found that his driver, Joel Musyoki Nyamae, had driven off with the car and the money.
