Former Burundi President Pierre Nkurunziza, who passed away on June 8 due to heart failure, is set to be buried on June 26 in Gitega, Burundi.
According to reports, Nkurunziza had stepped down from office just two months prior to his death, handing over power to his successor.
The burial ceremony is expected to take place at the Gitega cemetery, with a motorcade carrying his body from the Hospital Du Cenquantenaire Twese Turashoboye, where his body has been kept.
Residents have been asked to stand along the route to pay their last respects to the former president.
Several African leaders are expected to attend the funeral.
