On Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at around 3:30 pm, former Wajir Senator Abdirahman Ali Hassan's driver vanished with Sh2.1 million in cash from his car in Nairobi.

Hassan had left his car at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre with the driver, but when he returned from a meeting, the car was gone, along with the driver who had failed to respond to his calls.

Police were notified, and after a search, they found the car abandoned outside Nyayo House with the keys still in the ignition.

Central police boss Mark Wanjala confirmed that the driver was still at large and efforts were being made to locate him.

"We have dispatched teams to look for him. We are investigating the incident," said Wanjala.
