Founded in 2017 by British-Nigerian businesswoman Nicole Kayode, Medixus is an innovative platform that brings medical professionals together to share knowledge and expertise.

With a USD15,000 grant from Impact Investor Villgro Kenya, Medixus has onboarded almost 1,000 doctors and continues to grow its team of former researchers, medical doctors, and healthcare strategists.

According to Ms. Kayode, the platform's objective is to achieve quality healthcare for everyone by connecting medics with the right knowledge at the right time.

"The platform intentionally focuses on connecting African doctors with African doctors so that knowledge relevant to local disease burdens and treatment pathways can be shared, and solutions scaled quickly across the continent," Ms. Kayode explained in an interview with Business Today.

Medixus' primary business model is subscription-based, charging hospitals and other entities a specific fee for the service. As part of their support with the COVID-19 pandemic, entities can use the app for the first three months upon subscription, after which subscription payments will be due.
