On June 23, 2020, a man from Kirinyaga County killed and buried his girlfriend in a shallow grave he had dug in his compound. Just hours later, a similar incident occurred in Kisii County.
Police in Kisii County have arrested a woman alleged to have hired goons to kill her 42-year-old husband in Chirenge village.
The deceased was identified as Nelson Nyamao, whose body was found by his brother James Nyamao.
According to a report by Citizen TV, James received a mysterious call informing him that Nelson had been killed.
He found his brother's body with cuts on the head and neck.
James claimed that his brother's wife confessed to having a hand in his death after he confronted her.
She allegedly even escorted him to where weapons used in the murder were stored.
The body of the deceased has since been transferred to the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary.
The woman is being held at the Kiogoro Police Station.
Police officers said they were yet to establish her motive for committing the crime even as they launched a search for the other suspects involved in the crime.
