Published on June 26, 2020, a report by the US Embassy in Nairobi highlights the significant investment by American companies in Kenya.
Between 2010 and 2020, 85 American companies invested an estimated Sh311.78 billion in Kenya through greenfield investments and acquiring physical assets.
The investments created employment opportunities for 5,964 Kenyans, with the top 10 companies being Cummins, Dupre Investments, General Electrics, Coca-Cola, and IBM.
According to the report, 61 percent of the investments went to the health sector, followed by social development, crisis and conflicts, agriculture and food security, and education.
The largest US donors to Kenya include the Arcus Foundation, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, the David & Lucile Packard Foundation, and the Ford Foundation.
