On Thursday, June 25, Liverpool fans briefly forgot about social distancing guidelines as they gathered outside Anfield to celebrate their club's title win.

Chelsea's 2-1 win over Manchester City at Stamford Bridge on the same day confirmed Liverpool's unassailable lead at the top of the standings, making them Premier League champions.

With the coronavirus still at large, remaining fixtures in the Premier League were being played behind closed doors with various measures being taken to prevent the spread.

However, in the wake of a famous Premier League title triumph, caution was the last thing on fans' minds as they took to the streets of Liverpool in jubilation.

Photos and videos doing rounds online showed elated fans hugging and setting off flares in excitement at their team's triumph.

Notably, none of the fans had face masks or any cautionary equipment as only celebrations seemed to matter at the time.

Merseyside Police Assistant Chief Constable Rob Carden took to Twitter to wish 'Liverpool fans a great night'.
