On June 5, 2020, a 17-year-old girl from Homa Bay County traveled to Vihiga County to meet her Facebook lover, Vincent, whom she had met earlier that year.
According to the girl, Vincent invited her to his home in Mbale, Vihiga County, where they spent the night together. However, the encounter turned into a nightmare when Vincent defiled her and threw her out of the house.
The girl then met a boda-boda operator, Davies, who took her to a lodging in Kakamega, but he also disappeared, leaving her stranded.
She later met a third man who offered to take her back to Vincent's house, but he ended up defiling her as well.
It was not until June 10, 2020, that a woman came to her rescue and took her to the Mbale Police Station, where she recorded her ordeal.
The police then called her mother, who was shocked to learn about her daughter's experiences and is now pursuing justice for her.
Meanwhile, police in Siaya County are holding three people in connection with a rape linked to the death of an 11-year-old girl two weeks ago.
