On June 24, 2020, a dramatic incident unfolded in Nairobi when former Wajir Senator Abdirahman Ali Hassan's driver, Joel Musyoki, allegedly fled with Ksh.2.1 million in his vehicle.
According to a police report filed by Senator Hassan, he had dropped Musyoki off at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) around 3:30 pm on Wednesday. However, when he came out, Musyoki had driven off with the vehicle, leaving behind a rucksack containing Ksh.2.1 million in the rear seat.
The vehicle was later found abandoned near Nyayo House, with the money missing and the suspect at large. A team from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Central region, has since launched a hunt for Musyoki.
