On June 25, 2020, Kenyan Sports Cabinet Secretary Ambassador Amina Mohammed announced plans to criminalize doping in the country's sports sector.

Speaking at the Nyayo National Stadium, Amina distributed food donations from the National Olympic Committee of Kenya to over 200 athletes, aiming to mitigate the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Amina, more than 50 Kenyan athletes have been suspended by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) for using prohibited substances.

Amina expressed confidence that the Kenyan Parliament will pass a bill to criminalize the use of banned substances in the country.

As part of efforts to combat doping, Athletics Kenya has been distributing food donations to various athletics camps across the country.
