Published on June 25, 2020, Huawei's DigiTruck, a multi-functional IT lab, has announced its expansion to five additional countries following its resounding success in Kenya.

At the Global Education Webinar, 'Driving Equity and Quality with Technology', Huawei Deputy Chairman Ken Hu emphasized the importance of connecting schools and developing digital skills to improve equitable and quality education.

Highlighting the success of the first DigiTruck in Kenya, Ken Hu announced that five more countries will benefit from the initiative in the next two years.

Ken Hu stated, 'We believe that everyone, everywhere has the right to education and the equality of opportunity it brings. As a technology company, Huawei wants to help with connectivity, applications, and skills by focusing on two important areas of connecting schools and developing digital skills respectively.'

Through the 'Skills on Wheels' program, Huawei plans to provide digital skills training for vulnerable groups in remote areas, especially female students, through projects such as DigiTruck.

Since its launch in Kenya at the end of last year, the DigiTruck has provided training for over 1,500 young people and teachers in rural areas. Huawei plans to replicate the program in France, the Philippines, and three other countries in the next two years.
