On a fateful day in January 2015, President Uhuru Kenyatta appointed Zack Kinuthia as the Deputy Minister of Education, a move that would change the course of his life forever.
However, Kinuthia's journey to the top was not without its challenges. Born in Gatitu, Murang'a County, Kinuthia's mother, Mama Lucy Mugure, recalls the struggles she faced in raising her son.
"After completing his primary education, I couldn't afford to send him to secondary school. I had to beg my neighbors to lend me money to pay for his fees. I was paid Sh10 for one day's work, and I also had to pay Sh8 for each meal I ate at the police station in Kigumo," she said.
Despite the odds, Kinuthia persevered and went on to become the President of the University of Nairobi Students' Association in 2013. His determination and leadership skills earned him recognition, and he was later appointed as the Deputy Minister of Education.
Kinuthia's journey is a testament to the power of hard work and resilience. From a humble background to becoming a key figure in the government, his story is an inspiration to many.
