On June 25, 2020, gospel songstress Gloria Muliro addressed the buzz surrounding a potential collaboration with singer Willy Paul. The song, titled 'Wema', had been released two weeks prior, sparking speculation about the nature of the collaboration.
Gloria Muliro revealed that the song was initially recorded three years ago, before Willy Paul's foray into secular music. She stated that Willy Paul had approached her about creating visuals for the song, but they had yet to reach a conclusion.
"I have been asked these questions many times since the song was released. Let me make it clear, this is not a recent song, we recorded it a long time ago, about three years ago before Willy started doing the other songs," Gloria Muliro said.
"Willy has approached me for us to shoot the video for the song. We have been discussing the same and because we are yet to reach a conclusion, we decided to first release it in a lyric form. Once we are done with the discussions, we will know which way to go," she added.
