On Thursday, June 25, 2020, a 6-year-old boy's life was tragically cut short in Fundi Hamisi Village, Ganda Ward, Malindi Constituency, Kilifi County.
According to reports, the boy's mother, who works as a laundry woman, had left for work when the incident occurred at around 10am.
Witnesses claim that the boy was playing with his friends when he entered their house and failed to rejoin them for an extended period.
When his friends went inside to look for him, they found his body hanging from a leso tied to a window sill, as revealed by Ganda Sub-Location Assistant Chief, Omar Mazoa, in an interview with K24 Digital.
The exact reasons behind the boy's suicidal ideation remain unclear, and police have taken the minor's body to Malindi Level 5 Hospital morgue for further examination.
Investigations into the boy's death have commenced, and the community is left to grapple with the shocking news.
The deceased was the firstborn child in his family, with two younger siblings aged 4 and 2.
