On June 20, 2020, Jane Njeri Ngugi, a Kenyan resident of Florida, tragically lost her life in a car accident.
According to her sister, Joan Ngugi, Jane had driven into a ditch and called 911 at around 2:42 a.m., frantically asking for help as her car filled with water.
Police arrived and pulled out the car from the ditch, but unfortunately, it was too late to save Jane's life.
Joan Ngugi shared the devastating news on social media, saying, 'We are all absolutely shattered by the unexpected passing of Jane Njeri Ngugi. She has left a gaping hole in our hearts – but none hurting more than her son Karl.'
Joan also paid tribute to her late sister, saying, 'You know her as my baby sister from Washington DC. She had recently moved to Florida and purchased a car to start a new job. She was a brand new driver who gave us worry sometimes but she needed to drive to work and that car ended her life Saturday morning as she was leaving her friend’s house.'
Joan asked family and friends to remember Karl, Jane's 13-year-old son, who is still struggling to come to terms with the loss of his mother.
Our condolences go out to the family and friends of Jane Ngugi during this difficult time.
