On June 25, 2020, Kenyan rapper Prezzo's life took a dramatic turn when he was carjacked and shot by street robbers in a shocking incident.
According to Prezzo, he had visited his mother's place, gifted her beautiful flower vases, and was about to leave when she insisted on praying for him. Despite being in a hurry, Prezzo gave in to his mother's request.
As they left his mother's home, their car was hit from the back by thugs, who then tied them to the back of their car. Prezzo described the scene, saying, 'I came out fuming, the driver pulled out and he said 'sorry.' Kumbe they were thugs, kidogo kidogo four guys come out with straps and tie us to the back of our car.'
Prezzo and his companion were then beaten up with a gun, with the thugs mocking him for being part of the Cobra Squad. The robbers made off with at least Ksh 3.5 million worth of jewelry, but before leaving, one of them shot Prezzo in the head, leaving him for dead.
Prezzo recalled the moment, saying, 'They shot me and my scalp was open and that is when the ring leader realized that they had done a mistake. Blood was getting into my eyes and I was asking God to let me live for my daughter and my mum.'
Despite being severely injured, Prezzo managed to get a taxi to Nairobi Hospital, where he was stitched up.
