Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga has been admitted to a hospital in Dubai for minor back surgery, his brother Oburu Oginga has confirmed.
According to Oburu, the surgery is not a serious health issue, but rather a minor procedure to address a back problem.
Initial reports had suggested that Raila was in China for treatment, but his family clarified that he was actually in a German hospital in Dubai.
Oburu explained that the Germans have a good hospital facility in the Arabian country where Raila is being monitored.
Following the news, many Kenyan internet users took to their social media platforms to send Raila messages of hope and wish him a quick recovery.
As of June 25, 2020, Raila's condition was reported to be stable, and he was expected to make a full recovery.
