On June 25, 2020, Nairobi County MCAs caused chaos at City Hall, attempting to dethrone the Speaker in a dramatic and violent manner.

At around 3:00 am, a group of MCAs, armed with crude weapons, stormed the Assembly, causing disruption and fear among the staff and other officials.

The incident, which was widely condemned, highlighted the deep-seated tensions and power struggles within the Nairobi County Assembly.
