With the Covid-19 pandemic showing no signs of slowing down, Kenyans are finding creative ways to cope with the crisis. One trend that's gaining momentum is exercise, with many people taking to jogging, aerobics, and other physical activities to boost their immune systems and stay fit.
According to Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe, exercising regularly can help individuals recover faster from Covid-19. Kagwe urged Kenyans to eat healthy foods and exercise to maintain a strong immune system.
Henry Mumia, a fitness instructor in Kayole, East of Nairobi, has seen a significant increase in subscription to his aerobics classes and jogging sessions. Mumia's classes have become so popular that he's had to split them into smaller groups to maintain social distancing.
Regular members of Mumia's classes, including Winfred Tahabu, Detrimental Chobani, Esther Wambugu, and Esther Karimi, have all seen significant weight loss since starting the exercise routine. They've gone from weighing over 90kg to less than 70kg in just three months.
As Covid-19 infections continue to rise, Kenyans are being urged to adopt a new lifestyle that includes regular exercise, healthy eating, and social distancing. By embracing these guidelines, Kenyans can help protect themselves and their communities from the spread of the virus.
