On June 25, 2020, media personality Jahmby Koikai shared a heartfelt message with her followers, offering words of comfort to K24 employees who lost their jobs.
Recalling her own experience of losing her jobs in 2015, Jahmby advised those who lost their jobs to take one day at a time, as God has other plans for their lives.
She shared that she had been working on two radio stations and a TV show, but was dropped from the TV schedule for missing one episode due to her period pain. She later discovered that she had Endometriosis.
Her health continued to deteriorate, and she was eventually diagnosed with Stage 4 Thoracic, Pelvic Endometriosis, and Adenomyosis. Her sound system, a metaphor for her health, was also going down.
Despite facing a grueling journey, Jahmby remained hopeful and encouraged her fellow journalists who had lost their jobs to feel the pain, acknowledge it, but not let it crush them.
She advised them to take time to rest, re-energize, and keep the faith, as they have many unexplored gifts and talents. She also thanked God for social media platforms that allow them to create different products for specific audiences.
With a message of hope and encouragement, Jahmby reminded her followers that the future is bright and God is in control.
