On June 25, 2020, a Kenya Defence Forces soldier, Kennedy Oloo, was charged with the murder of his 26-year-old wife, Leah Nasuhu, at the Nakuru High Court.

According to court documents, Oloo committed the offence on June 11, 2020, at their home in Kiamunyeki, Nakuru North Sub-County within Nakuru County.

Prosecutor Rita Rotich told the court that they had no compelling reason to deny the soldier bond, while Defence Lawyer Steve Biko urged the court to release the accused on reasonable bail terms.

Justice Rachel Ng’etich granted Oloo Sh500,000 bond with a surety of the same amount and ordered the prosecution to supply the defence with all documentary evidence, the charge sheet, and witness statements.

A pre-trial conference was set for September 14.
