Published on June 25, 2020, a remarkable lawyer caught the attention of Kenyans during the Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru's hearing. Ndegwa Njiru, representing the Kirinyaga County Assembly, presented his case fearlessly, challenging other lawyers on matters he deemed suspicious.
With his sharp questioning skills, Ndegwa bombarded witnesses from the defence team, leaving them dumbfounded on more than one occasion. He was keenly listening to the defence team and using their weaknesses to expose them, proving his expertise in the law throughout the process.
Despite interruptions from the defence team, including Waiguru's husband Waiganjo, Ndegwa pushed on aggressively to uncover the truth. His attention to detail was evident when he pointed out a typo in the company names, questioning whether it was 'Velocity' or 'Velocty.'
Little was known about Ndegwa before this case, but he is now a household name. As a High Court advocate, he has appeared on TV, commenting on political issues. Kenyans took to Twitter, celebrating him for his efforts to expose the rot in Waiguru's tenure as governor.
